Who Needs Abuse Liability Insurance?

Abuse Liability Insurance is commonly held by businesses in the community, healthcare, and education spaces, amongst others, who work with vulnerable groups such as children, the disabled, or the elderly.

How Does the Coverage Work?

Abuse Liability Insurance provides a crucial path of redress for victims, ensuring there is an entity to be held accountable in event of abuse, and allows businesses to continue to provide critical services such as early childhood education, aged care, healthcare, and more.

Protection for Businesses: coverage for the the business for defense costs, damages, and other expenses arising from alleged and actual cases of abuse. Defence costs are extended to the accused individual until the point they are deemed to be a perpetrator at which point coverage is revoked.

Redress for Victims: by providing a legally accountable entity (the insured and insurer), victims are granted an important opportunity for redress, with the policy coverage allowing for payments of damages and victim support services for those impacted.

Enhanced Prevention and Awareness: policy holders gain access to valauble resources and training allowing them to proactively mitigate instances of abuse within their own communities, and take vital steps towards harm reduction.
